PE waivers are not a guarantee and should not be included in graduation planning. Students have 4 years to meet the graduation requirement of 15 PE credits earned. If scheduling or other circumstances do not allow a student to complete the requirement in classes, his/her CHSAA approved FHS sports can be considered for up to 10 waived credits toward the 15 required PE credits for graduation. PE credit is not earned.

If a student earns 15 credits in the classroom, they will not receive waived credit regardless of the number of sports he/she successfully participated in. If a student athlete earns 5-10 credits in class, the FHS coach approved roster will be reviewed to waive 5-10 credits, not to exceed 15 total PE credits. Transcript entries for waived PE credit will be made after a student's Junior year.

Participation in FHS sports is not required; attendance for each sport is not required and sports take place outside of the school day, therefore student athletes do not receive PE Credit and students are still required to earn 220 credits to graduate. Refer to BVSD Policy IKF.

Information for students and parents in 11th grade only: On April 14, 2020; all 11th grade students are to take the SAT. The result of this test is a college reportable score.

The April 14th SAT is the state assessment and all juniors are pre-registered. There is no cost for this test.

When taking the Colorado school day SAT on April 14, 11th grade students have the choice of taking the SAT with or without the optional essay. Adding the free essay to their SAT registration is a student’s choice. It is recommended that students who apply to more selective colleges consider taking the writing portion of the test. The default registration for all students is the SAT without essay. Individual students who wish to take the optional free essay must register for it in advance, on the student’s college board account. The essay registration window is Jan. 20 – Feb. 18, 2020. This will be the only opportunity for students who wish to take the optional essay, to add it to their April school day test registration. Information about the optional essay can be seen here: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/inside-the-test/essay and
https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/college-essay-policies. Students may add the essay to their registration through logging in to their online College Board account at collegeboard.org.

Senior Parking permits for the 2020-2021 school year will go on sale in April or early May. Check back here in March for more information. In the meantime, please keep the following in mind:

Students MUST have a valid driver's license if purchasing a permit; students without a driver's license will not be allowed to purchase and will be added to the wait list.

We will not accept checks or cash as payment for senior lot permits. All purchases must be done through RevTrak.

Students will be asked to pay for the permit on RevTrak prior to turning in any paperwork. RevTrak will allow sales only for the designated number of spots released. If on the day of the sale you are unable to complete your purchase through RevTrak, that means the permits have already sold out. Paperwork will only be provided to students who have successfully purchased the permit on RevTrak.

The permit contract paperwork changes EVERY YEAR. Please do not search the website for previous years' contracts and attempt to turn that in. Only the 20-21 contract will be accepted; contracts will be handed out only to students who have successfully purchase the permit on RevTrak.

THINK SPIRIT WEAR...VOLUNTEERING

Where else can you buy/sell school spirit wear, holiday gift shop and volunteer all at the same time? We're open day time hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and many evening events. The more volunteers we have, the more we can extend hours. 100% of sale profits goes to our kids' teams. Contact Michelle Carpenter at [email protected] or text 303-241-6669 and join the volunteer team. (https://bvsd.helpatschools.com/schools/43/pages/home) No time to volunteer? That's okay. You can support the school athletic department with your spirit wear purchase as well. Think holiday stocking stuffers and family gift giving. We take cash, check and cards. Watch for our online pop up store coming soon.
