    ! College Planning Night for Juniors, March 19

    College bound juniors and parents, please plan on attending the College Planning Night for Juniors on Monday, March 19, at 6:30 pm in the Fairview Auditorium. Information is presented by the Fairview Counseling Department about finding the right match, and the junior timeline. The checklist for the college application process is explained. Resources for college exploration is covered, including an overview of the Family Connection by Naviance, a comprehensive website that students and parents use to help in decision making about courses, colleges and careers.

    ! An Interactive Presentation - College Admission Process

    Broomfield High hosts an appearance by renowned speaker and former college admissions dean, Peter VanBuskirk! His presentation The College Admission Game is open to BVSD students of all grades, and is especially recommended for Juniors and their parents. Learn what happens to your application behind closed doors. The presentation is Monday, March 5, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Broomfield High School Auditorium

  • ! Seniors: College applications in spring

    Many colleges accept applications for admission throughout the spring semester. Come to the Counseling Office College/Career Center for assistance, or visit the counseling website’s college application page.

    College reps continue to visit Fairview in spring, and there are college fairs occurring in April and June. See the rep visit calendar here.. Please visit the counseling office for assistance or information.

  • ! Denver Spring College Fair

    DENVER SPRING COLLEGE FAIR The Denver Spring College Fair is Sunday, April 15, 1:00pm – 3:30pm at Cherry Creek High School, 9300 E Union Ave, Greenwood Village. The host contact is [email protected] For details on this college fair and to register, click here. The RMACAC Spring College Fair has something for everyone. This fair is free for students and parents.

  • ! Career & Technical Education (CTE) in 18-19

    The CTE offers tuition free courses for BVSD students during their 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years. CTE programs give students an advantage in preparing for college & careers. See your FHS counselor for info. Some CTE students can be eligible to earn high school and college credits at the same time by concurrent enrollment agreements with local community colleges. CTE programs at the Arapahoe Campus include: Auto Collision Repair, Auto Technician, Welding, Web and Gaming/Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice/Forensic Technology, Career Digital Arts, Medical Science, Esthetician, Hairstyling, or Nail Tech. During the school year, transportation is provided from BVSD high schools to the CTE center at Arapahoe Campus.

  • ! Denver STEM College and Career Fair

    NACAC provide the opportunity for families and students to meet representatives from several colleges and institutions relating to STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) interests. The STEM College and Career Fairis held Sunday June 3, 1:00-4:00pm at the University of Denver's Gates Field House and Daniel L. Richie Center for Sports Wellness at 2201 E. Ashbury Ave in Denver.   • ! College Rep Visits to Fairview in Spring 2018

    College representative visits to Fairview continue throughout the year. The presentations take place in the College/Career Center in the Counseling Office. Junior and Senior students can attend during a free period or during class period ONLY if they have received permission from their teachers in advance. Sophomore and Freshman students may attend only during free periods. Coming to these visits helps students become more familiar with the variety of campuses and allows them to meet with reps who will be reading their applications. The college representative visit schedule is posted on our College Rep Visit Calendar, which is updated frequently, so check back. When students list the colleges they are considering on their Naviance software account, they will automatically receive an email about when reps from those colleges are coming to Fairview.

  • ! Attention Seniors! Thursdays-College App Help in Counseling!

    Every Thursday during CAT time, 11:05-11:45am FHS counselors are in the College & Career Center helping students individually with the admissions process. Do you need help with your college applications? Do you have questions regarding your essays? Would you like help with the Common Application or other college admission issues? Stop in the CCC on Thursday during CAT and find our Fairview Counselors helping students with application details and the admissions process. Hope to see you there!

    Are you filling out the FAFSA soon? See the video: How to fill out the FAFSA, and get information on the CSS profile here. Our list is updated as new opportunities are being offered, so check back frequently. Recently, Fairview families enjoyed a wonderful presentation by Mr. Rob Drybread, a financial aid officer at CU Boulder.
