  • ! High School Concurrent Enrollment Updates

Now is the time to begin thinking about concurrent enrollment at CU-Boulder or Front Range Community College for Spring 2019. If you are in need of an advanced-level course or are interested in trying something new, you can apply for the High School Concurrent Enrollment Program. Information is available on the BVSD website (http://www.bvsd.org/students/Pages/Concurrent-Enrollment.aspx ) and you should email Ms. Wendy Herron for the application forms. Applications must be completed and returned to Ms. Herron no later than November 14. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! See below for updates to this program.

    1. Students who are NOT currently enrolled in courses at CU will need to complete the online application for high school concurrent enrollment at CU, and the MOU; in addition to district approval forms by November 30. You can find both the application and MOU online at: http://ce.colorado.edu/programs/high-school-concurrent/#enrollment . Students can complete the online application which will be routed directly to our enrollment staff. It will be processed immediately, but with enrollment holds in place, so students may not enroll unless approved.

    2. Students enrolled at CU this semester will be automatically rolled forward for the Spring 2019 semester (excluding graduating seniors). These students will NOT need to complete the online application, but must submit a new MOU for the term.

    3. The schedule of Spring 2019 courses is now available online at https://classes.colorado.edu/.

    4. Many classes at CU – including math, foreign languages and science courses – require documentation for placement. Copies of AP exam scores or college transcripts are typically sufficient. Please contact Jared Martin, CU High School Program Manager, if you have specific questions. [email protected]orado.edu

  • ! College Rep Visits at Fairview

College representatives begin visiting Fairview during the first week of September and continue throughout the year. The biggest concentration of visits will be during the week of October 1-5, and most of the presentations take place in the College/Career Center in the Counseling Office. Junior and Senior students can attend during a free period or during class period ONLY if they have received permission from their teachers in advance. Sophomore and Freshman students may attend only during free periods. Coming to these visits helps students become more familiar with the variety of campuses and allows them to meet with reps who will be reading their applications. The college representative visit schedule is posted on our College Rep Visit Calendar, which is updated frequently, so check back. When students list the colleges they are considering on their Naviance software account, they will automatically receive an email about when reps from those colleges are coming to Fairview.

In addition to these, many colleges combine to hold evening meetings in cities across the country. These meetings occur throughout the year so watch for them on our College Rep Visit Calendar, which is updated frequently, so check back often. You might also check college webpages to see travel schedules.
