Fairview Honors Program

Page updated: 26 May, 2019

Congrats to all those who took IB and AP exams during May; Fairview once again gave a record number of advanced exams.

We extend a special thank you to all of the parents who so generously gave of their time to help proctor exams. You all were great! A representative from the IB Organization conducted an unannounced visit to inspect our testing process (done fairly regularly); he was particularly impressed with our parent proctors and how the school integrates our broader community to serve students.

Scores for both IB and AP are release on or about 6 July.

For Graduated Seniors -> REPORTING EXAM SCORES
Congrats to all of our seniors who graduated 19 May! Here is how you can report your scores to colleges and universities:
AP - Please read your AP student-pack for details on how to report scores.

Thank you! to the many families who have already contributed to our annual pledge drive. The quickest and safest way to make a donation is by clicking on this link.

IB Mentor Project
Some of our IB seniors have started a new initiative called The IB Mentor Project. In short, their goal is to help students understand how the IB program actually works. More specifically, the seniors are promoting longer-term discussions with underclassmen (throughout the entire school year), all with the aim of helping students make good choices with academic goals, course selections, IB/AP exams, and scholarly options within the program. They have created a great resource! You can find more information about The IB Mentor Project here.

The Washington Post has once again recognized Fairview in their annual survey of America’s Most Challenging High Schools. Fairview is the only IB school in Colorado to receive distinction every year since the inception of the report, started by Jay Matthews in 1999. The system ranks schools according to an index formula, which is a ratio of the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year. You can read more about the ranking system by following this link.

Fairview is a proud International Baccalaureate school, and a strong supporter of College Board's Advanced Placement program. We have woven together the best of these two curricula to create our Honors Program, and our office is here to help you navigate the many choices for advanced study.
Office hours during the school year are: 8:00am - 4:00pm daily
