Missed Meeting Information from Bylaws

Section 2: Members shall be allowed no more than two unexplained absences per school year with any more
than two unexplained absences establishing grounds for dismissal.
Section 3: Members shall have the right to petition the executive council in writing for the granting of an explained absence. Two explained absences shall equal one unexplained absence. The petition must be submitted to the executive council within one week prior to or within the week following the meeting not attended.
Section 4: The executive council shall review the petition as to its nature and validity, promptly notifying the petitioner of the verdict by means of the bulletin board.
Section 5: The executive council reserves the right to waive the absence specifications when the member experiences unusual circumstances. The waiving of said specifications shall take place pending the approval of the Faculty Council.
Section 6: All members who miss a meeting (even if they were meeting with a teacher), must attend a “makeup meeting” during CAT/block lunch the Thursday after the missed meeting. There, a Leadership Team member will facilitate a discussion/reflection among the members and provide an update on what the members missed during the actual meeting.
Section 7: All members shall be required to attend the fall induction ceremony.
