Exciting news! The paperback version of the New York Times bestselling book, Beyond Measure, has hit the shelves! Rich with deep research and real-life stories on topics from homework overload to crazy college admissions, the book is the tool many communities need to launch action — to reject the race and restore children’s health and learning.
RETHINK, RESET, REFRESH! PEN's, Anxiety and Stress Symposium has been rescheduled for April 22, 9am - 1pm, Ascent Church. See calendar for more details.
Who We Are: The Lessen Stress Community Working Group is a group of FHS members who are committed to reducing stress and anxiety at Fairview. We try to identify specific sources of stress and present options for positive change.
Mission: To reduce stress at FHS and support an environment in which students are healthy, happy and safe, and where ALL students can “Find Their Place and Thrive”.
We will be working on the following issues this year: homework, bystander/upstander training, drug use and abuse, best practices for announcing selections and cuts, providing stress reducing activities for finals week, encouraging student advocacy, alternative activities for informal dances, and ideas for becoming a more inclusive campus. Unfortunately, the Stress & Anxiety Symposium on January 21, 2017 at the Boulder Valley Christian Church has been postponed until next year.
How to Get Involved: If you want to get involved, attend a meeting, or just want to get on our mailing list, please let us know at: [email protected]
The Lessen Stress Community Working Group believes that change is possible if those representing our group are positive and respectful; listen to all points of view; take time to explore why existing policies and procedures are in place; and implement a collaborative process for change.
