Welcome to online learning. As we all know this is not ideal, and it's what we've got. Before we get to the specifics, I would like to take a moment to be grateful. In quarantine, I have had plenty of time to ponder on many of my privileges. I would like to share a few with you and encourage you to find at least three of your own and share them with someone.. For me quarantine has reminded me that I have a safe place to sleep and shelter and feed myself and my son. I am grateful for these extra weeks because I get to closely witness his growth and development. Social distancing has been a privilege that I have chosen to participate in to protect the vulnerable in our community. This privilege means that I am not in a shelter, a refugee camp, or a detention center. I am deeply grateful for this freedom. With shelter in place, it has afforded me time to notice myself and my tendencies. This has opened up a space for inner work that is so valuable. These extra minutes lead me to personal understandings that I am so thankful for. I encourage all of us to listen to our deeper selves in these weeks. Remember: "viruses are contagious, so is panic, fear, hysteria, calm, love, gratitude, enthusiasm, kindness, joy.. choose wisely.."
I will be posting assignments on our Google Classroom. It will be very similar to how class was run before. There will be a lot of yoga options so you can take your pick. I will also be posting other movement activity ideas. It is so important for all of us to move your bodies. There will be lots of options so do what you want. There will be a short google form you will need to fill out at the end of each week. I will also be setting up time slots of video chats during my scheduled "office hours" .. tbd.. anyway, I hope you all are well and look forward to seeing you soon.. The codes are as follows:
