In Study Hall classes, students work on assignments, study for assessments and access school resources. If they've no current coursework to produce, students may pursue an independent project, take a short walk for some fresh air, or just chillax amid the rigor of a day at FHS.
Walk-in Services offered periods 1-7 include proctored test make-ups, peer tutoring in a variety of subjects, textbook sign out, use of SAT/ACT test prep materials, computer & printer access, and quiet study space.
I teach study hall to help students develop GRIT: the ability to sustain effort toward a long term goal they are passionate about. I've previously taught English literature and writing and managed a variety of programs geared toward helping public schools meet the needs of all students.
